Reply to comment in Discussion not working
My company recently upgraded to Release: 10.2 M030-CPS14 in Windchill and the REPLY TO COMMENT in the Process tab under discussion is now greyed out. All users will right-click to get that function, but it no longer works. I'm assuming it's a setting, but I cannot get our local Windchill support to figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Remove the product from recently add or from browse product icon ?
Hello Everyone,
I want to remove the product (do not want to delete the product from windchill) from the recently added (visited) list and Product icon. When i search for products and click on the specific product, that product can be seen under recently visited tab and under product option icon. i want to remove from that place. i want to search the product every time and click on that product link.

Is it recommended to have multiple Creo Datecodes interacting Windchill at a time for an existing Implementation
Dear Experts,
We have few departments with Creo 2.0 M120 and a specific set of users wanted to use advanced features which is available in latest Creo version [Creo 2.0 M220].
Is there any risk for the Data Integrity to use multiple date code of same version Creo ?

Configurable Solidworks model with Windchill 11
I am working with Configurable products in Windchill using Platform Structure module. I want to sync rules and expression to CAD assembly so that I can simulate CAD based on possible configuration. I am planning to use Solidworks for CAD modelling.
Can Windchill propagate Options, Choices, expressions, rules from Part Structure to Solidworks CAD model ?

how do you track in your company Windchill light licenses, how do you track heavy user license(s), thanks!
Windchill 10.2, no problem with tracking / counting view and print licenses but I'm having problem to determine how to track light vs heavy licenses. PTC is charging different amounts of money so i would like to assign those correctly. I would like to know how many light PDMLink licenses i have and how many PDMLink licenses I have for heavy users. As of today my understanding is that each Creo Parametric user (user using Creo Parametric) is heavy user but how to get light user number? Thanks for any help on this!

Designated Attribute issue
I tried to designate some creo paramerets to windchill as product wise. I created CAD Document sub types for Product wise and crated all required attributes in Global Attributes in Type and Attribute Manager.
After that when i try to upload to Windchill its giving warning like
Incoming Attributes XXXXXXXX ignored as they not part of type definition.
But i didn't change any preference for Upload in Preference Management.
Now am into the Migration process because of this issue am struggling.

Add to workspace fails with strange override situation
I have a group of users that attempt to open an assembly and they get an 'Add to workspace failed".
For the failures, the event manager says a family table member would become incompatible but also give an override option that strikes me as a little strange. That override option is to override the latest version (C.0) with the oldest version (1.2).
The difference between the two is that the older version has a few instances that we broke out of the family table a couple of years ago (due to those instances not being a COTS number). I've done this dozens of times to dozens of different family tables and have never seen this cause a problem.
I've verified that the Add to Workspace Required Dependents settings are identical (Latest, Working) I've followed that up with changing this on both accounts, same error (Latest, Production Released)
I've started taking more drastic measures, such as removing what I thought were the offending components from the assembly, but it gives the same error for that pin (ms16562) even though it's not in the model tree anywhere.
The problem account can search, find and open the latest generic of that pin. He can search-find-open the components that were once in the family table but are now broken out. He just can't open an assembly that's using them even when I can.
Hopefully some suggestions steer me onto the right path. Dealing with Tech Support on ITAR matters is always a last resort.

Anyone using JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with Windchill
I have some questions that are specific about Windchill integration into JDE. More specifically pushing additional information into JDE, such as PTC_MATERIAL.
Short history: My company has been using Windchill now for about 8 years. Our parent company is now pushing out their own Windchill implementation that is directly tied into JDE, was initially deployed with non-fabricated items in mind, and has only been used up to this point by business units that only sell to other business units. All of this has some what tied our hands, and I have no direct contacts that I can get information from on what is/isn't possible in JDE. My impression is our JDE people don't want to change, so our Windchill people are trying to work around it. Also, HQ is in France, so there is a language barrier that complicates things.
Anyone with some knowledge on this, I would love to pick your brain a little. I'm not sure how many companies are using JDE and Windchill, but since both are common softwares, I'm hoping to find someone.
A few questions I already know I need answered:
- Are there limits to what parameters JDE can receive from WC?
- Can field lengths JDE be modified? (told 30 characters is max field length)
- Being told we can only Promote drawings as promoting models will break link between either Model/WTParts or WTParts/JDE. I have yet to understand which they are referring to. They said it was related to the fact that JDE info can be updated without CAD/Windchill info being updated. I think.

How can creo 2.0 configure with windchill pdm essentials
I have pdm essential user name & password .I can login with browser & upload no cadd documents its all are ok.
I need to creo files to upload to windchill so I need config with windchill pdm essential 10.2
And same time am need to deconfig so also. Because am go for offline line mode to work its difficult to save .So please help me.

How to generate ACL report in windchill 11
for windchil 9 or 10, the following way used to give ACL report
| 1. | Open Windchill Shell. |
| 2. | Run the following command from Windchill Shell: windchill wt.tools.support.ACLReport <output_file> where <output_file> is the file name and path where you want to export the ACL's. |
| 3. | Open the text file and search for the products whose ACL's are of concern. |
Note : It dumps all the access rights on all the object and roles in the system.
However, if the same procedure is used for windchill 11, it throws error.
Can someone help in this, may be some step is missing ?

Windchill PDMLink - MS SQL Server DBA, workload
We've been on Windchill PDMLink for managing our Pro/E / Creo CAD data for nearly 4 years. We've grown to approximately 50 users, but still use it primarily as a CAD vault. We are in the process of upgrading from 10.0 M030 to 11.0 M010, are planning implementation of Change and Configuration Management and on the horizon plan to connect PLM to ERP (Infor Syteline). As the reach of the system grows and it becomes even more critical, we're considering the need for a MS SQL DBA to really optimize and maintain the various databases (those of PLM, ERP, various other internally created databases) as well as best define which is the master owner of each slice of information and how the systems can share information.
For Windchill, I've been asked to summarize what the regular tasks for a DBA would be and how much time it would consume. In going back and reading through PTC's "Best Practice Activities for Windchill System Monitoring and Maintenance", I've constructed the following (below) - but the time requirements for a SQL DBA are purely a guess. Keep in mind, doing the basics outlined in the PTC doc have kept it running smoothly with minimal intervention....but as we seek to better use the system and the information in it (not just the CAD files it manages), that's not going to suffice.
I'm looking for feedback both on the content and time required for a DBA's regular tasks for Windchill when used as PLM (not just CAD vault) and interconnected with other systems such as ERP.

Limiting Search Results
Hello everyone,
wants to limiting the search results, i tried
Search results can be limited by configuring the following properties:
• com.ptc.windchill.search.queryLimit
• wt.pom.paging.snapshotQueryLimit
• wt.pom.queryLimit
change the above properties but could not restrict the search also change table size in preference management.
but i am not able to restrict the search result.

"Described by" Attribute in Configurable Describe Link
Hi,
Is there a way to remove the "Single Value" constraint on the Configurable Describe Link , as shown below..?
There is some business justification and reason behind this, but want to know the technical feasibility.
We are likely to use a sub type of Configurable describe link and want to have one to Many relationship within one link.

Out of Date Check - how does it work?
Hi,
Wondering about the preference available at site level, in the workspace section, called "Out of Date Check":
I set it to "yes" so that users would be notified about out-of-date objects, as the following screenshot teases:

(Which shows a clock icon at the top of the table near the "Pick an action" drop down)
But the preference doesn't seem to have any effect for me and I haven't been able to see this aforementioned out-of-date icon.
This is what I tried:
Using Creo 2, connected to Windchill 10.2 using the internal Mozilla browser.
Added a revision 0.1 model to my workspace.
Another user checked out this model, modified it and checked back in; Commonspace now is at 0.2.
My workspace shows no notification, even after I wait 5 minutes, nothing happens; I try to refresh the page -nothing...
does anyone know if this functionality could be working for us ? We use Windchill 10.2 and Creo 2.0.
Maybe I'm not expecting it to work the way it is intended...
Is there is there some auto-refresh setting that I am missing?
