when the engineer duplicates a part, he didnt duplicate the drawing. in Intralink, there was a work around, where i could duplicate the part and drawing, then update the part in my workspace, with what was in commonspace. how can i do this in Windchill. i tried it, but it fails because the part exist in common space.
Engineer duplicated a part, with a new part number, but didnt duplicate the drawing with it. so, i have to go redimension the drawing because he moved a hole.

Can anyone help me with a problem, where I need to disconnect the corporate ldap from existing Windchill instance. This is since our corporate ldap is getting changed and hence we want to disconnect for now.
What are the steps to do that?
I have followed the reverse of the steps done during the AD integration as follows:
I have deleted the entries from the
1. \ptc\Windchill10.1\tasks\wt\federation\mapcredentials.xml
2. wt.properties file
3. Apache Windchill.auth file
any further steps I am missing.
FYI, I am executing the above steps during the rehosting of the production server on a new machine.
Is it possible to setup the wt.mail.mailhost without any password?
And how is that accomplished?
I tried to reset the wt.mail.smtp.username and wt.mail.smtp.password
But no mail is coming out of the system.
I tried to look in the logs but I couldn't find any attempts to email.

I created one product folder and put the all necessary documents (i.e CADDocuments, WTDocuments, other non CAD Documents etc.) in that folder.
is it possible to checked out the whole product folder? i am selecting the folder and try to check out by selecting the action menu then i get the error "Only CAD Documents and parts are eligible for multi object checkout". is it possible to check out the whole product Folder.

Ok, i have some designers using creo, and while they are working, will open a large assembly. Their typical practices, are to go home at the end of the day, leave Creo running, so they come in the morning, and dont have to reopen the large file. this was their practice during Intralink. no issues then. However, now with Creo, they get a message saying server offline, or error where they are not connected. no liscense, things like that. i assume its from our backup, which restarts the server. the only thing they can do is Ctrl-Alt Delete, to close the program, then restart creo.
Is this a windows error, windchill error?
is there something on my side i can do, or is there something they can do on their side, via server manager, or something without having to close out Creo?

Every time I attempt to add members to my Windchill project by adding their email addresses, I then get an email saying that the mail delivery system failed. There is probably a simple solution to this problem, but I do not know how to fix it and was looking for some assistance!

As an Organization Admin role, I would like to make a product Subtype.
When I tried to make a Subtype, I got the following message which said that "I don’t have an authorization to make a Subtype."

I have a critical issue... which is making me eager to solve in a easy way..
Issue is...
I have a 'n' number of fasteners (say Bolt "A") in windchill... which I have to replace with a another existing part (say Bolt "B")...
Both the bolts "A" & "B" are used in many places..
I am washing out the Bolt "A" from windchill and whatsoever database...
Can i do this by help of windchill... "Without affecting in model..."
Is there any way to do this

Has anyone else experienced the issue with the utility not building the part structure to match the cad structure (excluded parts)?
I had ALL WTparts created for cad parts already, then moved all assemblies need into a folder and ran the utility on that folder. This is what I get...have to manually rebuild.
Have to apologize, we are just in the testing phase of implementing WTparts.
I have an Instance created for specific units of our product. I have released the Instance through the change process. We have had a change to a specific unit and I need to Rev the Instance from A to B and make the changes accordingly. When I do this, it makes the same change in the Rev A instance as the Rev B instance. Is there a way to stop this from happening so I am able to show a historical progression of this unit?

We update to M050 as we had problems with nightly restart after backups with 040. PTC informed us that M050 will resolve the issue.
I installed M050 on a test server and tested same again on Production over the weekend. I test on several machines with different configuration. No problems.
Monday morning key users had problems. Two problems, the Java Upload (drag and drop) was not working (and so browse did not work). I switched those users to Browse to upload files.
Problem two was a show stoppers. Doc Control could not see the Resulting Items section during Edit on the Implementation plan!
They could if they downloaded Chrome and used that - again no drag and drop.
